Christina Mackie, Installation view, Painting the Weights, Chisenhale Gallery, London, 2012. Comissioned by Chisenhale Gallery, photography by Andy Keate.
Yesterday my class had a gallery visit day type thing. We started by going to the Song Dong: Waste Not show at the Barbican and then we went on to Parasol Unit to see the Lines of Thought show and Victoria Miro which was showing work by Yoyoi Kusama then PEER Gallery to see work by Stuart Brisley and then to the Chisenhal Gallery to see the wonderful lovelylovely exciting work of Christina Mackie and then finally to The Approach Gallery to see the current Recto/Verso show which was also quite lovely.
As you might tell, the Christina Mackie show was the highlight of my day. Just perfect. I could have spent hours looking at it. We also got a talk about the show and about the gallery from the curator/director. Great, interesting stuff etc
